Mini Chocolate Cream Pies

Out here, we're some Village Inn frequent flyers, and the French Silk pie is basically a food group in my regular diet.  If you don't know what Village Inn is, it's a chain diner place that offers some pretty darn cheap food, and my friends and I have spent countless hours and dollars at our local location. No, it's not some interesting hole-in-the-wall place with fantastic, unique food. It's simple, there's tons of them all over the country, and I like it.

Crumb Crumb Crumb Cake

Crumb cake has always held a place in my heart, but though I've tried, I have never been able to make one that was truly right.  I had my crumb mixture all wrong, using room temperature butter instead of melted butter, and never having the right ratio of dry to wet for it.

So here's the thing: I do not love cheesecake as much as the next guy. I love cheesecake WAY MORE THAN THE NEXT GUY.  As a side note, if I actually know you and you don't like cheesecake, I'm going to have to reconsider our friendship.

Perfect Muffins

Muffins, to me, are a less-guilt-inducing substitute for cupcakes, and let's face it, who doesn't want a cupcake wannabe for breakfast every morning?  Don't worry, it's a muffin, they're MADE for breakfast.

Rustic Apple Tarts

I don't like apple pie, but if I'm going to eat any kind of apple pie, it's going to be these little tarts.  They're super easy and you don't have to use tart pans so dishes are minimal, and considering the size, you won't have to feel bad about eating a whole pie.

My family loves apple pies, and over the last few months I have been baking these treats in all forms.  After receiving a holiday gift of some frozen tarts like these, I decided that I had to recreate them.  Enjoy!
